VOLUNTEER CHAPLAINS MEETING

Chaplain Jerry Leggett, Pastoral Care Director for Huntingdon and Union City Baptist Health Care, directed the meeting today. We had a great breakfast provided by the hospital kitchen staff. We discussed the various nuances of the Chaplaincy work. Brother Leggett thanked each one of the volunteers and presented each one with a desk notepad case. The meeting went well. It was a good time of fellowship, laughter and ministerial camaradarie. One of the volunteers, Brother James Humphreys said, "we all have one thing in common - the One who died on the cross." Everyone agreed. Those attending were, Rufus Chandler, (Pastor, Missionary Baptist Church), James Humphreys (Retired Southern Baptist Pastor), Jerry Leggett (Chaplain Jerry Leggett, Baptist Health Care Services), Dr. Paul Mullikin, President (Pastor, First United Methodist), Roger Patton (Pastor, First Presbyterian Church), Lynn Stapleton, Vice President, (Pastor, Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church), Milton Gordon, Records Treasurer, (Pastor, Church of God of Prophecy, Huntingdon), we had prayer for Jimmy Furr the Secretary of HMA who had a pacemaker implanted this past week. Jimmy is the Missions Director of the West Tennessee Southern Baptist Association. We thank God that fellow ministers can work together for the advancement of the kingdom of God and the spread of the gospel.
