TODAY

Karen and I traveled some today. We went to Lexington (TN that is) and shopped for Christmas for the members and attenders and some last minute family shopping. We try not to get into the "commercialism" of Christmas but we do enjoy buying small gifts to show our love to the congreation and to family. We also got some needed items for the Candlelight Christmas service Sunday, which will begin at 10 am. Karen has been calling and telling folks that weren't in church Wed. evening about the service beginning at 10 am. We average missing one or two Sunday Schools a year but usually we have Sunday School. This Candlelight Service will include everyone from the youngest to the oldest. Karen is working on a nativity scene with some of the little ones and I am getting songs and reading together for the service. Anyone who wants to read or sing will be involved in the service. We want to worship our Savior and celebrate His birth. He is truly the reason for the season.

Studies in the doctoral program have to be on hold for the next several days as I am involved in pastoral and family ministry. Karen and I will be visiting member and friends Monday-Thursday of next week. Then our four children and four grandchildren are to be with us Friday night and half a day Saturday. Then we are traveling to Karen's family for Christmas Eve and to My family for Christmas day. As the song says, "Its the most wonderful time of the year. . ." and our Savior, Family and Friends are what makes it so wonderful.

We love each one. . . .
