FRIDAY FEBRUARY 10, 2006: WELCOME REVERAND AND MRS. CHUCK BURKS

This was a great day in the Lord. Karen and I did some calling and checking on some of the members. Sister Marie Moore continues to need prayer. Sister Jennie Sanders desires healing in her legs from edema. Brother Lonnie Bush is back home from surgery on his big toe area for skin grafting. The morning seemed to fly by.

At 10:30 I met with Reverand Chuck Burks. He and I had a great time of fellowship and visitation. He has pastored and assisted in ministries in several churches. He shared his background as a lad in the Pentecostal and Apostolic faiths that he grew up in. We visited and discussed ministry for about 3 hours. He stated that he and his wife want to make Huntingdon COGOP their local church home for the time. I welcomed him and his ministry. He feels a supporting role in discipleship ministry and assisting pastors. He also has a degree in music and can play several instruments. Welcome Reverand and Mrs. Chuck Burks to our local church. May the Lord help us to minister to these folks and share the grace that God has poured in our lives and may we receive their ministry as they minister in the love and faith of Christ. Reverand Burks is very open and wants to learn more about our organization.

Snow began falling here at about 3-4 pm this evening and we had up to 5 inches in spots here. Karen and I enjoyed getting out and having a little snow ball "fight." I think we missed every time but once. It was so chili that we didn't last but a short while. More (pictures, etc.) on the snow tomorrow.

Have a blessed night in the Lord.
