The third and final part of a mission statement is unique to you. What is it you do, that when you do it, you lose track of time? That is probably why you are here on earth.

ANOTHER GREAT DAY!
Thank God for another great day of meetings. We were glad to have a new one tonight. Lisa brought her neighbor Jessica. Jessica said she would be back. We thank God for His great presence tonight in our meeting. Several were in the altar. Lisa testified that God uplifted her tonight. She is requesting prayer for her friend who has some personal problems and could not be in church today. Delilah was in the altar and testified that God lifted a heavy burden that she was under. We thank God for his presence. There was a real presence of God's joy tonight as we sang, laughed, rejoiced and worshipped the Lord. We are continuing to seek the Lord to become involved more in what He is doing here in Huntingdon. To Him be all glory, honor and praise.
I was glad to be with two of my grandchildren. We enjoyed taking them to McDonald's. See pictures below.

SUNDAY, JULY 30, 2006 - LEADERSHIP
Today was another great day in the house of the Lord. Thank God for his presence. It was great to see my daughter, Heather, her two children, Courtney and Caleb with us today. Her husband, Sammy Hall, could not come due to his job schedule. We were glad to see Lisa who has moved into the area a while back from Lansing, Michigan. We welcome her to our church.
Leaders were appointed today. Some of these appointments are from the individual voluntarily offering their feelings about their giftedness and desire to minister. Others are appointed with a willingness to do their best, even though they may not fully believe they are gifted in that area. I have stressed availability, responsibility and attitude over capability. I am thankful to volunteers who are available, responsible and have a great, positive attitude about the work. The following is a list. Some positions were not filled at this time and are open to those who may feel the call or giftedness in working in that ministry in the future. Until such time the Pastor will boost these ministries and operate them as best as possible. Also, there are others who are gifted in ministry and can be a vital part of the local ministry here. We welcome their giftedness and ministry. There are many gifts that God blesses the local church with for ministry and we welcome them and want them operating.

TODAY
Today was a very enjoyable day being with my oldest grandchild, Courtney Hall, and my grandson, Caleb Hall. Karen just had to go to Wal-Mart and get them something - thats how Memaws are. She got caleb a little battery powered Volkswagen and Courtney a toy too.
Heather, my daughter, cooked chiken and dumplings per request of Karen and we had fresh peaches and cream, cream style corn, pinto beans, corn bread, etc.
Despite the rain, (10 inches in the Huntingdon, Carroll County area according to some TV reports), we enjoyed the day. Courtney and I ran out in the rain and played in it for while.
The pictures below say it best.

TODAY
Rain and more rain. . .
And more. . . . . .
And much, much, much, more. . .
The trash can lid blew off and filled with water as the rain came pouring down. Anyone seen an Ark around here with animals on it.?
The steps to the mailbox were covered with 2-3 inches of water.
Jason went to the church to practice some on the piano and, well, you get the picture.
Mommie, "Can I go out in the rain and play?"
Hey Courtney, the trampoline is to jump on, not to lay down on. She had a blast jumping on this indoor exercise trampoline - so did Caleb and Heather tried it some too.

SERVANT EVANGELISM TO BE RESCHEDULED
Due to inclement weather, the Servant Evangelism Project to wash windshields in the Fred's parking lot will be rescheduled at a later date. We are experiencing a deluge of rain. . . . .

VBS CELEBRATION
We are so very thankful for a great VBS Celebration Ceremonies evening!
ACCORDING TO SOME OF THE MEMBERS, THIS IS THE SECOND VBS EVER HELD HERE AND IT HAS BEEN OVER 15 YEARS SINCE THE LAST ONE.
There were several parents (new ones to the church and our regulars) who came to enjoy the closing time of celebrating the week of ministry to the children. We thank God for 40 children who attended and possibly more that we don't have count of. There were some who came the last night that were not counted until then. Each night was blessed as we studied and did crafts in the theme of the night. The theme for the week was Week of Faith. Monday through Thursday night each had a theme beginning with The Lord's Prayer, Ten Commandments, Daniel & the Lion's Den, and The Three Hebrew Children. Friday evening was a great time of celebration as we gave each child a Certificate of Completion, a T-Shirt with the themes on them, and a magnetized picture of each one to go on their frige. We are so thankful for each one who came and for those who served. Each staff member was given a large bag of "life savers" as a token of their service and for being a life saver in our VBS. After the celebration ceremonies we went into the fellowship hall for hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, drinks, etc. and most of all FELLOWSHIP. We enjoyed the company of several parents that came to our church for the first time.

Each evening Sister Karen shared her testimony of who is her best friend - Jesus. We encourged the children to receive Jesus as their best friend.

UPDATE - VBS & STAFF
Needless to say, Karen and I have been very busy this week with VBS. Since we decided to do our own crafts and lessons we have been working on those things during the day a lot. It has been a very enjoyable, exciting but challenging week.
VBS was great again tonight. There was no increase in attendance and no substantial decrease but we did see an increase in new attendees. There were five new attendees - to the best of my knowledge. We had some new parents to drop by and bring new children.
Another note of interest is that out of the children we have been ministering to, almost three-fourths are from Virginia and Jimmie Davis's daycare and they are new to the church. We appreciate their help in encouraging the parents to bring the children and we also appreciate all the donations.
The following is a list of staff. We do so much appreciate the staff of our VBS. The teachers had to take on some extra work because of the spread of age groups and they did a fantastic job.

VBS CONTINUES WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM AND EXCITEMENT
We thank God for another great night of ministry to the children and youth. We did not double in attendance tonight as we did last night but we had over a 60% increase in number. There ages from 2 through 15. We will give a total number ministered to at the end of Friday evening's celebration.
We love snacks. . . . . . .
The little ones sing, "I Think I'm Gonna Throw-Up - My Hands and Praise the Lord."
Growing pains in Lori's little ones class. . .
We can sit still - see Miss Lori. . .
The other half of Lori's class that is growing, growing, growing. . .
Lori's class has quadruppled in three nights. She had over half of the whole attendance in her class. Growing pains.
Sister Karen gives directions and encouragement.

WHAT A GREAT TIME IN VBS TONIGHT!
Another great evening of VBS. We thank God the attendance doubled from last night. If it doubles each evening it will be overwhelming. The theme for tonight is the Ten Commandments.
Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down, here I am to say your my God.
Carla Lawton and friend. We brought the most children tonight and we hope you bring many more.
Part of the Team VBS staff enjoying the closing prayer and invitation.
We had a great time and look forward to tomorrow evening.
We are learning and having a great time!
Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so.
Will someone tell me what the theme is for tonight? I can't seem to find it.

GREAT KICK-OFF FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
The first night of VBS was a great success. We were thankful to have Kim Batson visit with us from Dickson, TN. She has recently been assigned as West Tennessee Children's Ministry Director. The pictures below are part of what we enjoyed the first night. We worked as a team directing the VBS. We have gotten off to a good start.
We love music and especially when we get involved signing the words. Sister Donna's class. Kim Batson is right in the middle of them having a blast with them.

GREAT DAY!
Another great Sunday. The day was great as we worshipped and felt the presence of God so near. It was good to see Mr. Manus and his son Bodie with us again today. We are thankful for the many blessings of the Lord. Below are just a few pictures of the workers and what they are doing to make VBS a success.
I'm a new puppet for the small children's class. I am like Pinnochio, I am real. Watch my nose grow.
Early arrivals for church tonight. We are here. Where is the preacher?
We want the church clean and nice for the children when they come.
We went to the La Concina restaurant after church with a group of our people. Sister Judy Reynolds and one of the workers at the restaurant are in the above picture.
Above is a visual aid that Karen worked on much of the day yesterday. We want to teach our children the truth and help bring them to Jesus Christ.
I have an idea. . .lets see. . .what about this?
Another puppet to be added to the small class puppet team. He almost looks alive too.
Mom and daughter are getting ready to serve the children at snack time.
We are helping to get the tables ready for crafts for the children.
That was too funny. . .well I don't know if it is or not. . . .anyway
