Greetings! It is a great day to be alive and to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Starting with this post and subsequent posts, a scripture will be posted. Our scripture for this date is Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. WHAT AN AWESOME GOD WE SERVE!

This week I have been serving as Volunteer Chaplain at the local hospital. It has been my blessing to visit with those who are sick and offer encouragement to them. Prayer was also offered to those who desired. Sister Bonnie Curtis Crossno, one of the members here at Huntingdon, has been in the hospital since Friday. We have been visiting and praying with her. She reported that she felt better yesterday when we were there.

Sister Gordon and I have also visited with Deacon J. E. Moore and Sister Moore Monday night of this week. We enjoyed a meal with them and had a good time of visiting and prayer.

The Fishers of Men Fish Fry, scheduled for this coming Saturday October 8th from 4-7 pm, plans and procedures are going great. To date there have been approximately 50 tickets sold and several who have said they will come who have not bought a ticket. We are using the funds from proceeds towards the development of the new church property.

Upcoming events: Community Fellowship, October 15, 5 pm until. This will be a time for the church to invite the neighborhood for a time of fellowship and to get acquainted. The church will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks. Each one who comes is requested to bring a covered dish. There will be a bonfire and Hot dog and Marshmallow roasting.
Homecoming, October 23, 10:30 am until. Guest minister will be State Overseer, Dr. E. C. McKinley of Hendersonville, TN. Guest Singers will be By Faith of Manchester, TN. Everyone is welcome.

To those who read this and will pray remember these in prayer for encouragement: Brandon and Amber Moore, Beth and Kelly Moore, Lori Rivera, Dee and Sammy Walker, Jessica Smith, and Shiloh Johnston.
