Today I traveled 35 miles to visit and minister at the Jackson church. State Overseer Bishop E. C. Mckinley asked me to minister there for a few weeks until their newly assigned Pastor, Aaron Ward starts on November 1st. The drive there and back was awesome with the changing colors of the Fall season (pictures). Also the services were great. A picture of the church building and some of the members and attenders are also pictured here. GOD BLESS THE JACKSON CHRUCH WITH MANY NEW SOULS IS MY PRAYER!

HONORING SENIOR MEMBERS - JENNIE SANDERS
JENNIE SANDERS
Todays scripture is found in Proverbs 16:31 "Gray hair is a crown of glory. It is attained by a life of righteousness (HNV 2000). What a blessing to know those who have served the Lord for many years. Each time I see the silver or gray hair on a Christian, I think of the above scripture. There are many who have gone on from Huntingdon church. Sister Chester, Brother Ebert, Sister Reynolds, Sister Moore, Sister Bush and others. We thank God for their lives and for the opportunity to show our respect and honor to them. Now we will give honor to those who are still with us.
Today we are beginning our series in honoring senior members. Sister Jennie Sanders is pictured here. She is 86 years young and says she has been a member over 50 years - she is not exactly sure how long. She remembers when Brother Omer Lawson came to the area and preached some messages at the church close to her and in tent meetings.
She remembers how revival broke out and people were getting the Holy Ghost. She reported that she heard them from her house but would not go. She said that her husband went and received the Holy Ghost one night and came home a different person. She said she went later and also received the Holy Ghost. She said that several others, including the Methodist preacher, received the Holy Ghost but later he "backed up." She said that her and some others then joined what was then the Church of God and later it was changed to the Church of God of Prophecy. She remembers the brush arbor and tent meetings and when services were in the basement of the church. She loves the Lord and prays for the church every day.
It is a great joy when Sister Gordon and I visit with her in her small home. We have a great time of fellowship and prayer. We leave her home feeling spiritualy renewed and uplifted. Sister Jennie does not get to come to church as much as she would like to because of her health. But she is a prayer warrior at home and full of the Holy Ghost and fire. We love you Sister Jennie.
This is where Sister Jennie lives. She has a small house but there is a giant heart and great spirit who lives there. She tells of the the times she just walks around praying and praising the Lord.
This is the little Methodist Church where Sister Sanders said that Omer Lawson preached about 58 years ago. There is another church across the road where tent meetings were held and a church was organzied (Tate Holiness Church). Sister Jennie tells of Holy Ghost, pentecostal powerhouse meetings in this little white Methodist church. This is just up the lane from her house.

AN AWESOME GOD!
Today's passage is Psalms chapter 8. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
What an awesome God! The Psalmist in chapter 8, believed to be David, begins by declaring, O Lord, Our Lord, how excellent is thay name in all the earth!. Then he recognizes God's power to control the most powerful men by the mouth of babes. Then he considers all the great things of creation that Almighty God created. Then he asks the question. What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? When we consider the greatness of our creator, how can we fathom Him? Think of the worlds without end that He has created and think of the many, many stars which He named - each one. Think of the minute things he created on this earth - atoms, protons, neutrons and now scientists believe there are even smallar particles. After the Psalmist recognized mans place in the order of creation (lower than the angels) he also recognized how God has given humans dominion over the works of His hands on this earth - animals, birds, oceanic life - then he resounds, O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! How wonderful to say O Lord our Lord! He is awesome.
NOTE: Future blogs will be honoring senior members here at the Huntingdon Church of God of Prophecy. There will be pictures and a short article. Later blogs will honor other church members and friends.

HUNTINGDON CHURCH OF GOD OF PROPHECY HOMECOMING, 2005
The Homecoming was great. There was singing, preaching, fellowship, worship, "dinner on the grounds," and recognition of those who have worked so diligently in the past to bring the church where it is today. We were blessed by the local talent of Lori, Denise and Delilah.
The Southern Gospel singing group, By Faith, sang under the anointing. The songs, "There Is A Land," and the newer version of "Jesus Use Me" have been played and made popular on the area gospel radio stations. We were greatly blessed by their ministry. They are from Manchester, Tennessee and will bless any church that has them for a singing.
Dr. E. C. McKinley, State Overseer of The Church of God of Prophecy in Tennessee, preached a powerful and pertinent message from Luke chapter 15. His message dealt with the lost sheep, the lost coin, the two wayward sons and the loving Father. He reminded us that the Father loves each of us regardless of past sins, just as he loved the son who left home and spent his inheritance on riotous living and the one who stayed home and became jealous, self-centered and unforgiving. Dr. McKinley's story about a preacher he once knew had us all "in stitches." We pray that God will help us be more like the Good Shepherd who sought the lost sheep and the Father who loves us and wants us in his fold.
We are very thankful for God's blessings to us here in Huntingdon, Tennessee. We believe God has great things in store for those who diligently seek Him. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.
NOTE: The editor and administrator of this blog apologizes for the quality of the pictures since he is in the learning process of taking pictures and doing this blog.

Greetings! Our scripture for today is taken from Philippians 4:4, "Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice." No matter the circumstances, problems, issues or struggles there is always a great and mighty God that we can worship and give praise and thanks to. HE IS GREAT AND GREATLY TO BE PRAISED!
This week has been filled with God's blessings and opportunity to minister. Saturday from 5 pm until about 8 pm the church at Huntingdon hosted the first Neighborhood Block Party Fellowship. The church served free hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks, and chips to those who came. There were at least 15 new people that attended and we became acquainted with them and had a great time of fellowship. We enjoyed the fellowship and the food. There were table games and later there was singing around a campfire. It was a great time of getting together and enjoying the friendship of neighbors around the church and other neighbors and friends of church members who attended. We were blessed to meet Mrs. Britt, the Kemps, the Williams and others. We thank God for the opportunity to show our love by simply sharing a meal with our neighbors. THANK YOU HUNTINGDON MEMBERS AND FRIENDS FOR THIS EFFORT!
Yesterday, God blessed in services at Jackson. I have been preaching in Jackson for the past two weeks. The services yesterday at Jackson were great as God manifested his presence in a great way. One man, Brother Scarbrough, in the service last night said, "I felt the presence of the Lord that I have not felt before." Others testified of God's goodness and presence. The manifest presence of God lingered and blessed as we prayed and worshipped around the altar. God is so awesome. I encourged the church to seek and trust God because he has great reward for those who seek Him.
Sister Gordon ministered at the Huntingdon church yesterday. She reported that the services went well. There were visitors there last night and the church is moving forward for the Lord.
Huntingdon will be in Homecoming this coming Sunday, October 23, from 10:30 until about 3:30 pm. There will be singing by the group By Faith and ministry by State Overseer, Dr. E. C. McKinley. Everyone is invited to attend.

Our scripture today is 1 Timothy 5:17 "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine."
Today I would like to honor one of my former State Overseers, Bishop Eugene Weakley, and his wife Juanita. They were Overseer of Tennessee in the Church of God of Prophecy for 14 years. Brother Weakley pastored and was an International Representative of the church for several years. Brother and Sister Weakley have encouraged me at times when I seemed to need it most. They are retired from the ministry but they are not retired from ministering - I can tell you that with certainty. Brother and Sister Weakley, "You are loved and appreciated very much." Our family loves you!
Today I received an email from them with the following truths to remember. It is my hope that these will encourge someone as they did me this morning.
20 Truths To Always Remember...
1 . Faith is the ability to not panic.
2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.
3. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home every day.
4. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
5. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.
6. Do the math. Count your blessings.
7. God wants spiritual fruit not religious nuts.
8. Dear God: I have a problem. It's me.
9. Silence is often misinterpreted, not ever misquoted.
10. Laugh every day, it's like inner jogging.
11. The most important things in your home are the people.
12. Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.
13. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.
14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
15. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.
16. We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so enjoy our precious moments.
17. Nothing is real to you until you experience it, otherwise it's just hearsay.
18. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just be sure to flush when you are done.
19. Surviving and living your life successfully require courage. The goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the turtle, it only makes progress when it sticks out it's neck.
20. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.
NO MATTER THE STORM, WHEN YOU ARE WITH GOD, THERE'S ALWAYS A RAINBOW.

Today's scripture is a classic. It is found in John 3:16, 17, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." Notice the scripture says God SO LOVED. The gift was His only begotten son. He did not send Jesus to condemn but sent him that the world through him might be saved. Is He your Savior? What an awesome God we serve.
Since the last post the we have had the Fish Fry raising over $500.00 for the building program of the church. Sister Karen and I continue to visit the members and friends of the church here in Huntingdon and the surrounding area. Greetings! It is a great day to be alive and to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Starting with this post and subsequent posts, a scripture will be posted. Our scripture for this date is Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. WHAT AN AWESOME GOD WE SERVE!
This week I have been serving as Volunteer Chaplain at the local hospital. It has been my blessing to visit with those who are sick and offer encouragement to them. Prayer was also offered to those who desired. Sister Bonnie Curtis Crossno, one of the members here at Huntingdon, has been in the hospital since Friday. We have been visiting and praying with her. She reported that she felt better yesterday when we were there.
Sister Gordon and I have also visited with Deacon J. E. Moore and Sister Moore Monday night of this week. We enjoyed a meal with them and had a good time of visiting and prayer.
The Fishers of Men Fish Fry, scheduled for this coming Saturday October 8th from 4-7 pm, plans and procedures are going great. To date there have been approximately 50 tickets sold and several who have said they will come who have not bought a ticket. We are using the funds from proceeds towards the development of the new church property.
Upcoming events: Community Fellowship, October 15, 5 pm until. This will be a time for the church to invite the neighborhood for a time of fellowship and to get acquainted. The church will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks. Each one who comes is requested to bring a covered dish. There will be a bonfire and Hot dog and Marshmallow roasting.
Homecoming, October 23, 10:30 am until. Guest minister will be State Overseer, Dr. E. C. McKinley of Hendersonville, TN. Guest Singers will be By Faith of Manchester, TN. Everyone is welcome.
To those who read this and will pray remember these in prayer for encouragement: Brandon and Amber Moore, Beth and Kelly Moore, Lori Rivera, Dee and Sammy Walker, Jessica Smith, and Shiloh Johnston. Remember these in prayer for sickness or physical needs: James Davidson, Tony Palmer, Brownie Palmer, J. C. Palmer, Jenny Sanders, Lenne Mae Crossno, Bonnie Curtis Crossno, Ethan (grandson of Donna Crossno), Jim and Shirley Spivey's granddaughter who lives in Georgia. Until next time - God bless you is our prayer.

This was an awesome day for Sister Gordon and I. We were with our children for much of the day in Manchester, TN at my youngest child's (Sarah) house, celebrating my oldest daughter's, Danita Queener, birthday (9/28), my youngest daughter's, Sarah, birthday (10/02) and my birthday (9/28). We had a great time with our children and grandchildren. Our second daughter, Heather Hall, was there with her two children Courtney and Caleb and Sarah's two children, KeYante and Aviana, were there. Some friends from East Nashville church came to be with us. Chris's (Sarah's husband) father and mother, Wayne and Tina Holman were there. It was a good time to be together with family. Jason, my son, could not be with us. He is very involved in the Renaissance Singing Group at Bethel college. They sing at various places throughout the year on weekends.
I am so thankful for all my family and all my church family. The family is a very vital part of all we do and all that the church is about. I am a part of a great church family here locally at Huntingdon, TN and throughout the state of Tennessee. Here is a link to the state church site http://www.tncogop.org/ Dr. E. C. Mckinley in the State Bishop. Our International Office site is here http://www.cogop.org/ If you visit here, also please visit these sites. Thank you for visiting.
