Sunday, July 6, 2008, Church, Visits and Prayer Requests

Today's service was especially blessed with the presence of the Lord and a great worship atmosphere. Jason sang a new song and was overtaken by the presence of the Lord. He wept as he sang and could hardly continue for the sweet presence of the Lord. Sister Susie Reynolds requested prayer for her youngest daughter as she wept. We joined in prayer to anoint a cloth to be placed near her daughter. There is a genuine spirit of compassion moving among us. We are experiencing the passion of our Lord to minister and care for those who are in need of the Savior. Many of our people are sick or going through recovery from injuries but God is still God and we know that He will lead us on with victory. He still saves.

Brother Leon Reynolds continues to recover from cancer surgery and is now up and walking. Several of the folks from church visited with him after church today. We offered prayer and encouragement to him and his family. Karen and I were invited to stay and eat lunch with them. It was an enjoyable visit. We love and appreciate this family. We join together to continue in prayer for his complete recovery and return to church and being able to work and take care of his family.

Sister Cathy Coleman is now out of ICU and in a private room. She is moving around some with her hands and feet and her eyes are open. She has not spoken but nods her head at times. Karen and I visited with her and prayed with her. She continues to need prayer that her all her mental faculties and motor skills will return and that she can return home and be with her family. We join together to continue in prayer for this family.

I visited and pray with Richard Hammett in the ICU at Jackson Regional Hospital. He is the nephew of Sister Willodene Davis. Mr. Hammett has a brain aneurysm and he and the family request continued prayer.
