The prayer meeting was great! We met at the R. B. Wilson Apartments (old R. B. Wilson Clinic) entrance room. There was plenty of room as we gathered to pray and sing praises to the King of Kings. There were new visitors in our prayer meeting. We welcomed, Pauline Belew, Rita Trimpani, John Baker, and Teresa McConnel to our meeting. Sister Jennie Sanders was there as well. She lives there. She is one of the oldest Senior Members of the church. Thank God for this opportunity to reach out.
Rita Trimpani is a hurricane Katrina survivor and displaced person. We prayed with her and offered our friendship and comfort as tears flowed down her face. She told of loosing all they have in just one thrust of a 30 foot tide that brought on an 8-12 foot wall of surging water. She told of how they barely escaped and how cars would be floating down the street. We prayed with her and encouraged her but know that each one of us here could not really understand. She wants our continued prayers and support.
Since our beginnings in having prayer meetings in homes and public places - our attendance has increased over 50% for which we are thankfu. We have ministered to a total of 13 new people since we began these prayer meetings. We are thankful to be able to get out in the public and in homes to minister the gospel to those who cannot attend and to those that we may have opportunity to meet.
Each person present shared prayer requests and prayed together. Thank God for being with us and for the closeness of the Holy Spirit in our prayer meeting. To HIM BE GLORY!
