SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Hebrews 5:8 "Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered. . ." To some this passage may sound as if Jesus was disobedient in some way. That is not the jest of this passage. To understand this better we put the word submission where obedience is and then we see that Jesus submitted to the ridicule, pain, rejection, false accusations and shame of the cross and of those who tried him in Pilate's Hall. In our life as a Christians we find ourselves in situations that often bring ridicule, rejection and accusations that are not true. If we follow the example of our Lord there will be victory just as he was victorious over all the sufferings he went through. We can "count it all joy" and move on to the next glorious touch in our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit and the effectual working of the Master - who bled and died for us on the Cross and is alive for ever more. GLORY TO HIM!
