FISHERS OF MEN FISH FRY - A GREAT TIME OF FELLOWSHIP AND FOOD
What a great time we enjoyed tonight at the Fishers of Men Fish Fry. Thanks to each one who donated and worked hard to make this a success. Brother Leon and Sister Susie Reynolds donated the fish they caught throughout the summer and others gave dessert, drinks, side items and a lot of friendly smiles. What a great time we had tonight. The last count we had, there was almost $600.00 raised and some was still not in. The fish was exceptionally good, some of the best I have ever tasted.
The Spivey family enjoying their family time and the food. The fish was complemented by everyone as some of the best they'd ever tasted.
James Davidson and family with the Moores.
Jeremy and Delilah Mummel and some lady sitting with her back turned would not look. Everyone complemented the fish.
Josie the ticket and money taker.
Sister Marie Moore's new neighbors came. Dillion on the end, Natalie hiding her face and their mother. . .Sister Marie is in the middle.
Some new faces that we enjoyed serving. . . .Several came that were new. . . .
People started coming in at 4 o'clock and soon the dining hall was buzzing with happy folks. The dining hall was filled at least three different times with different folks throughout the evening.
Sister Donna Crossno and one of the newer little ones - Tricia's baby boy and Sister Cathy VanMeter's grandson, Kenau.
Very dedicated, hard workers who don't quit until the last clean-up is done. Josie Rivera, Susie Reynolds and Paul Rivera. Some of the best local church leaders in the whole world.
Brandon and Tricia full of food just relaxing with baby Kenau.
We are an item. Daniel Laws and Lorie Rivera. . . .
We beez best friends. . . .
Boy, that sure was good fish. Wonder if they have any more for the Moore man? J. E. Moore and Michael Coleman.
New face at Huntingdon CoGoP - Joseph Daniel Rhodes. . . .Joseph requests prayer since he is homeless and also needs a job.
The fish cooker, Leon Reynolds, and cook Gracie Flores work hard in this effort.

Only when you make the right changes to your thinking other things begin to turn out right. From, Thinking for A Change, by John Maxwell
And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Apostle Paul, Phil. 4:8 NLT

WEDNESDAY EVENING
We thank the Lord for a great service Wednesday evening. Several attended. Jason and three of his friends from Bethel College came. Rob, Aaron and Catalina (from Colombia South America) visited with us from Bethel College. Jason and Aaron sang a special "In Awe Of You." It was good to see these students with us for the first time. We enjoyed the songs by Lori Rivera and Delilah Mummel. God was very present and we thank Him for the closeness of fellowship that we felt.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. 24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

100 DAYS OF PRAYER - FIRST AND SECOND WEEK
Last week, October 1-7, General Overseer, Bishop R. E. Howard, called for prayer for the General Presbyters. Surely we understand the great burden and responsibiltiy that these men have and we want to continue holding them up in prayer.
This week, October 8-14, the General Overseer is the focus for prayer. We are praying for these areas for him: Wisdom, Strength, Anointing, Discernment and Empowerment. Let us join together in seeking God for Bishop Howard.

Sunday morning I continued to recuperate from a urinary tract infection. Sister Gordon ministered and did a great job. We were asked the question "Whose Report Will You Believe?"
The message reminded me of the song that we sang over and over again and again several years back. I like the last line - "We shall believe the report of the Lord." God came and ministered. I am very thankful for a caring church. They gathered around and prayed and God gave me a touch. PRAISE GOD FOR HIS STRENGTH! Thank God for members and attendees that understand Pastors and Ministers get sick and need prayer. What a great blessing to have that kind of love and prayers on clergy appreciation Sunday. Thank God for caring members.
Sunday evening I had regained quite a bit of strength and was feeling even better. Thank God for His presence and for the faithful ones who came to worship the Lord.
We are entering in to the 100 days of prayer and the fasting time. We are challenged and encouraged by the words in Hebrews 11 ". . .He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."

UPDATE - PRAYER REQUESTS
Karen has had xrays, stress testing for heart with treadmill, blood work, and CT scan. She is scheduled for a sleep apnea consult on Monday. Please remember her in prayer.
The past couple days I have been recuperating from urinary tract infection, after sleeping about 2 hours (I think) on Thursday night. Due to complications in past surgeries and strictures, these infections are evident, according to the urologists. I had tests and an abdomen/pelvis CT yesterday (with the most deliciously flavored berry contrast) and began antibiotics. Please bear with my "broken record" prayer request but I do so much appreciate the prayers.

GREAT TIME!
We enjoyed a great time of prayer, singing, testimonies and sharing in the Word last evening at the R. B. Wilson renovated apartments (old R. B. Wilson Clinic). Each one shared times of testing and trials. Rita Trimpani attended again. She shared some of the struggles of being displaced and the passing of her young son. She was displaced from New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina. Pauline Bromber shared how God helped her through the passing of her son. Others testified of God's grace during a time of testing and trial. We were encouraged to share God's comfort with others as the Apostle Paul encouraged in 2 Cor. chapter 1. Thank God for His presence and each one who came.

LADIES MEETING
Karen came home from the ladies meeting and reported that it went very well. She had a fly swatter with the words on it "God's Word." The theme for the meeting was "Swat Those Bad Thoughts." It was a unique visual illustration. We thank the Lord for Sister Susie and her faithfulness in working with the ladies. May God continue to bless each one is my prayer.
LADIES MINISTRIES MEETING TONIGHT
Sister Susie Reynolds will have the monthly ladies meeting tonight in the fellowship hall. Our sisters are great laborers for the kingdom of God and the work of the church. We do so much appreciate them and pray for them. This meeting is not only for church members and attenders, it is also for any new ladies that may want to attend.
QUOTES
Last Friday, September, 29, I attended the John Maxwell seminar in Nashville at Christ Church. Here are some of the quotes I jotted down and some from his book The Difference Maker.
"The choices you make are the choices that make you."
"Attitude is not everything, it is the main thing."
"The greatest difference my difference maker (attitude) can make is within me, not others."
"You are not what you think you are, you are. . . .what you think."

SUNDAY MORNING:
God blessed greatly in our morning service. The Sunday School was very informative and inspirational. Psalms is one of my favorite books of the Bible and so very helpful to read and apply in our daily lives
As Pastor, I announced and boosted the 100 days of prayer and the ten days of fasting. We are joining together in this time of seeking God.
The morning message emphasized World Mission Month and was taken from 2 Corinthians chapter 8. The Macedonian church gave out of their extreme poverty and the Apostle Paul encouraged the Corinthian church to become involved in giving to those who had much less. We are thankful to be able to give and our Harvest Partner, Uganda/Sudan, certainly needs our giving and our prayers. The children each were given a cup to be filled up for missions and the congregation was challenged to pray and ask God what he desires from each one.
SUNDAY EVENING
God met with us on Sunday evening. We enjoyed a great time of worship. It was awesome to meet together as we prayed and sought God and worshipped him. The presence of the Lord was very evident as people were praying around the altar.
Karen and I were pleasantly surprised after the service. The church gave a joint birthday surprise for Karen and I. We enjoyed the birthday wishes, the snacks, the cards and the cake was very nice and good. God bless you precious people at Huntingdon. Karen was more surprised since she thought it was only for me. SURPRISE! SURPRISE! We love each one and pray for you.

PRAYER REQUEST
Sister Jennie Sanders called requesting prayer. She is having edema in her legs and also her head is hurting. We prayed on the phone together and thank God for his visit. There are no limits to distance in prayer. What a mighty God we serve. We will keep praying and request prayer in church this morning.
WORLD MISSION MONTH
Today is the first day of World Mission Month . In the Fall, October is the month and in the Spring, March is the month. Our Harvest Partner is Uganda/Sudan, Africa. Bishop Ntezimana James is the Overseer. This month we will be praying and building our offering to send to them. These nations are in great need of funding and much prayer. We want to do our best for these nations where they often do without eating for days.
When Bishop James was visting in our home he told of a time when he visited one of his pastors in a very poverty stricken area. The pastor's son was very sick and weak from not eating. A child cannot grow without food and they are more susceptible to sickness when they don't have nutrition. Bishop James said, "All I could do was pray as we watched the boy die in the pastor's arms." Yes we know the bible speaks of famine and it is certain but it also speaks of giving to those in need. May God burn in us the desire to give as God directs. God loves a cheerful giver and he will bless those who give out of love and obedience in more ways than anyone could every imagine.
